ACEE Star Researcher Dr.Siju Abraham From JMMCRI Emergency Medicine Thrissur, Kerala India was awarded the Young Investigator Award at the 39th International Congress of the European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT) held at the Stazione Marittima in Naples, Italy on Friday 24 May 2019.
His Research Work Titled “Mapping snake envenomation: a pilot meteorological and geospatial model based on retrospective review of case records at a single tertiary care snake bite treatment centre” won the award at the 39th International Congress of the European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT) held at the Stazione Marittima in Naples, Italy on Friday 24 May 2019.
Annually the Young Investigator Award (YIA) is designed to encourage young investigators to perform original research on a subject related to clinical toxicology or poison control.
Since its inception this was the first time the award was won by an Indian.
