TOPCOM: The 2nd International Congress on Tabletop Exercise and Communication in Disaster Medicine was held from 1-6 August 2016 at Department of Emergency Medicine UITM Seylang Hospital, Kulalumpur, Malaysia.
The conference was organized by Datuk Prof Mohamed Alwi Bin Abdul Rahman, Head Department of Emergency Medicine, Seylang University Hospital, a tertiary teaching referral hospital in Seylang, Kaulalampur, Malaysia.
This fifth annual conference was joint venture organized by Ministry of Health and College of Emergency Physician, Malaysia.
The conference and workshop was inaugurated by YB Bato Seri Dr Hilmi B Haji Yahaya, Deputy Minister of Health, Ministry of Health, Malaysia and Datuk Dr. Noor Hishman B Abdullah, Director General of Health, Malaysia.

In his own words Professor Sahu wrote “I was invited as faculty to do a critical care workshop in above workshop. I spoke on: An Unstable patient and approach to a sepsis” and led a hands-on workshop on role of USG in Emergency Trauma and Disaster Medicine. I was also participated as Faculty in a Table top exercise on disaster medicine. Over all it was a life time experience to be part of this conference, sharing the knowledge and gaining experience from it. The interaction with eminent personalities in the field of Disaster, Emergency Medicine and Trauma care will help me for the further better patient care, teaching and training and research in this discipline.”

Dr. Sahu is the faculty at the Department of Anesthesiology & Emergency Medicine at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rai-Bareilly Road, Lucknow-226014 (UP), India. He was recently awarded the ICMR International Fellowship at the RA Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA. He received the Dr. YG Bojraj Award for the Best Review Article written in the Indian Journal of Anesthesia.
