It is with great pride we announce that INDUSEM was recognized as the best Practice Model by the World Health Organization (WHO) for its contribution for developing Emergency Medicine in India.
The WHO in its Landmark document “Strategic Directions to Integrate Emergency Care Services into Primary Health Care in The South East Asia Region” gave INDUSEM this prestigious credit.
“The recognition by WHO is the epitome of the success of INDUSEM as the critical accelerator and innovator for developing Emergency Medicine in India, The World Largest Democracy of over 1.5 Billion Global Citizens.” Said INDUSEM CEO Dr. Sagar Galwankar.
INDUSEM was born in 2005 as an Intercontinental Institutional Partnership Initiative based on a Non Colonial Model. Founded by Emergency Physicians from AIIMS, New Delhi and University of South Florida Emergency Medicine in USA, INDUSEM got the support of the Emergency Departments and Faculty from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center and Baroda Medical College.

INDUSEM has led the birth and development of Academic Emergency Medicine in India. Conceptualizing the training curriculum, faculty competency criteria, faculty development pathways, establishing national societies and initiatives for Emergency Medicine Research, Education and Patient Care were landmark achievements of INDUSEM.
Developing the specialty of Emergency Medicine from ground up was an effort, which continues to date. Innumerable research papers, policy documents, networked empowerment strategies and current residency trained board certified Emergency Physicians in India stand as testament to the success of INDUSEM.
Hundreds of workshops, meetings, conferences attended by thousands of physicians, nurses and health workers have culminated into a vibrantly developing and evolving Emergency Medical Services model across India, which is powered by an Academic Framework developed by INDUSEM.
The Focus of INDUSEM is to Advance Patient Centered Initiatives in Education, Research and Care using Institutions of Learning in Health and Medicine across the World. INDUSEM continues to be an inspirational model for Academic Physicians with a career focus on International Medicine across the United States.
