The Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) Arunachal Pradesh achieved a milestone when on 24th of January 2025 when they launched The TRIHMS Medical Journal (TMJ). TMJ will be published by Jaypee Brothers under the patronage of TRIHMS with the complete academic backing of INDUSEM.

This journal symbolizes a significant step forward in fostering medical research and innovation, paving the way for TRIHMS to emerge as a leading contributor to healthcare knowledge.

TMJ was launched in presence of Shri. Biyuram Wahge, Honorable Minister Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Mohesh Chai, Advisor to Health Minister and Honorary MLA Tezu Constituency, Shri Bamin Tarang, Director (HRD & E), NEC, Shillong and Shri Marge Sora, Mission Director, NHM, Government of Arunachal Pradesh amongst many others.

Dr. Moji Jini, Director of TRIHMS, warmly welcomed everyone as he highlighted the significance of this momentous occasion, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to advancing medical education and research. He shed light on the inception of The TRIHMS Medical Journal (TMJ).

Prof. Sagar Galwankar, CEO of INDUSEM, played a pivotal role in launching TMJ thus guaranteeing the journal’s professional quality and accessibility.

Professor Sagar delivered an inspiring address as he meticulously elaborated on the journal’s potential to elevate the global reputation of TRIHMS as a centre for academic excellence.

Professor Sagar pointed out the current underrepresentation of Indian research on global platforms as he emphasized the critical role of emergency medicine in healthcare delivery. He advocated for the inclusion of medical professionals from all disciplines in emergency medicine training through the ASHWAMEGH Initiative, which aims to strengthen emergency care capabilities across India. Highlighting the strategic importance of TRIHMS he proposed extending its outreach to peripheral areas of Arunachal Pradesh by creating satellite campuses and strengthening education and practices using digital technologies.

This was followed by message by Dr. Mohesh Chai, Advisor to the Health Minister and Honorary MLA of Tezu Constituency, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude and pride in being part of this milestone. He remarked that journal publishing is a vital component of medical education, enabling researchers to share innovations and improve healthcare delivery. He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of research and publication within medical institutions.

The Honourable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Biyuram Wahge, applauded the inauguration of TMJ as he recognized the challenges posed by Arunachal Pradesh’s difficult terrain and commended TRIHMS in all the efforts to overcome these barriers to enhance healthcare services across the State of The Rising Sun. He also extended his gratitude to Dr. Sagar for his invaluable guidance in strengthening emergency care across BHARAT and his support to TRIHMS.

Dr. Rajen Kombo, OSD Project TRIHMS thanked all dignitaries, collaborators, and participants along with the editorial team Dr. (Prof.) Ramapati Sanyal, Dr. Naomi Saring and Dr. Amrita Sarkar. He reiterated the institute’s dedication to upholding the journal as a groundbreaking research and innovation medium.
