From the Desk of Sagar Galwankar, CEO INDUSEM
“There is No Such Thing as a Self-Made Man” !
The above is the title of the autobiography of the Legendary Industrialist of Independent India Shri. PP Chhabria who left for his heavenly abode at his residence in Pune.
Also known as PPC Saheb, he had been a constant source of inspiration for his persistence, tenacity and a sense of relentless pursuit for progress and personal peace.
News Channels and Media Outlets have been flooded with tributes to this great leader who always believed that Creativity always attains success when there is a great deal of compassion involved in it.
Saheb started his career with monthly wage as a cleaning boy with a monthly salary of 10 Rupees and built up FINOLEX INDUSTRIES which is more than 10,000 Crores. Post Partition and losing his father at the age of 12 PPC Saheb found home in Pune. This is where FINOLEX was born and continues to live as the FINOLEX World Headquarters which are a mark of his legacy, an inspiration to all start up entrepreneurs of today.
PPC Sahab envisioned that India and Information Technology were a winning combination, so back in 2000 he established the International Institute of Information Technology (also called as I Square IT or I2IT) to create experts and work force of the future. Today it’s an Institute of International Repute and continues to be an example of a Progressive Vision for Modern India.
I have known PPC Saheb for over 20 years and have always been influenced by his ideals and work ethics.
When I started my career in Public Health, HIV/AIDS was a great problem. It was then that I helped establish the University of South Florida Center for Health and HIV/AIDS Research and Training in India. I was a part of the founding team of this Center and PPC Saheb supported the CHART Initiative because it made a difference in the lives of HIV/AIDS Patients in India. The work was well recognized and Experts from this Center were awarded the Prestigious NIH Fogarty Grant Award to continue this work.
In 2005 we personally worked with experts and IsquareIT to start the First Ever Public Health Informatics program in India leading to an INDO-US Joint MPH.
In 2005 PPC Saheb personally lead the creation of the INDO-US Joint MPH Degree program in Public Health Informatics. This was a path defining moment for India when Public Health Leaders were also capable of being a part of the Information Technology Revolution.
INDUSEM always had the attention and support of PPC Saheb. Saheb was a Humanitarian who respected innovative ideas and helped implement them when they made a great difference in lives of people. He supported the INDUSEM vision of “Constructive Change with Creative Collaboration”.
Today INDUSEM celebrates the Inspirational Life of Shri. PP Chhabria as he continues to be survived by his children and their families.
God Will give his family all the peace they need and God Bless the Soul of this KarmaYogi !
Rest in Peace PPC Saheb !
