The Pediatric Trauma Resuscitation Module (PTRM ) was developed as a part of the Indian Council of Medical Research ICMR project to promote the use of evidence-based practice in the early identification of life-threatening events and timely management of pediatric trauma patients.
The First National Training of Trainers (TOT) Program was conducted at National Institute of Health and Family Welfare from 8th to 9th November. 84 ace instructors were trained over 2 days by INDUSEM Leader Dr. Neha Thakur who was also the Course Director.
The Course was inaugurated by the Director General Health Services Prof. Dr. Atul Goel, Director NIHFW Prof Dheeraj Shah, Indian Academy of Pediatrics President (2021) Prof Piyush Gupta and Director WHO-CCET, Prof Sanjeev Bhoi.
Amongst others prominently PTRM was supported by ICMR, NIHFW, WHO-SEARO, University of MICHIGHAN, Dr RMLIMS, KGMU, INDUSEM, EMA – ACEE, & IAP –PEM.
The maiden event was attended by over 200 participants and faculty. The second course was conducted at Centre of Advanced Skill Development KGMU on 15th and 16th November.
About Dr. Neha Thakur Rai
Dr. Thakur is the Joint Secretary for Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Emergency Medicine Association. She serves as the Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (Dr.RMLIMS. After completing her MBBS from Calcutta University, Kolkata she went on to get her MD in Pediatrics from the prestigious Benaras Hindu University in Varanasi.
