Prevention of Injury was the mission when Dr. Pritam Munde Honorable Member of Parliament flagged off the Injury Prevention Walkathon at AIIMS on 27th September 2015.
The Walkathon marks the official beginning of the 11th INDO-US World Congress of Emergency Medicine.
The ‘Jeevan Jyoti Rashtriya Abhiyan’ and ‘Jan Suraksha Abhiyan’ will soon be carried over as a mission to the rest of the state involving more and more of health care personnel and the other key stake holders like college students, police personnel, army personnel, NGOs and even the lay public. In the coming days, people of India will gain a lot from this made in India Abhiyan……
Dr. Munde lead the Walkathon with Dr. MC Misra Director AIIMS, Dr. Bhoi Professor AIIMS, Dr. Aggarwal Head of EM at AIIMS and Dr. Sagar Galwankar CEO of INDUSEM. Ms. Nirmal Thakur was the Chief Organizer of the event.
Addressing the Large crowd Dr. Munde emphasized the importance of safe practices as she accounted her own experience with a Road Traffic Crash where she was a Pedestrian. She also discussed her entry into National Politics after the untimely Demise of her father Mr. Gopinath Munder who as a Cabinet Minister lost his life in a Road Traffic Crash. She informed the crowds about the Motor Vehicle Act which was passed by the Government.
Dr. MC Misra Director AIIMS discussed about efforts taken by AIIMS to make Injury Prevention a National Agenda.
The INDUSEM Jan Suraksha Abhiyan was the core Foundation of his Walkathon as Media, Medicine and Masses Made the Grand Event a Grander Success.
