EMA-ISCCM Tackle Tox @SGPGIMS

The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Emergency Medicine Department successfully conducted “Poison Patrol: A CME on Toxicology Frontlines” Educational Conference on January 3, 2024.

The Emergency Medicine Association of Uttar Pradesh, The Emergency Medicine Association of Uttarakhand, and the Lucknow City Branch of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine were partners in this Educational Conference.

This innovative hybrid event blended in-person and virtual formats to maximize outreach and engagement.

Around 250 Delegates joined both virtually and in person with over a majority of 130 delegates engaged virtually. This unique setup allowed for an inclusive and accessible learning environment, catering to a wide range of professionals interested in the field of toxicology.

The CME session covered crucial topics such as the approach to poisoning patients, organophosphate poisoning, benzodiazepine overdosage, aluminium phosphide poisoning, and snake envenomation. Esteemed speakers from SGPGI, AIIMS, and BHU shared their expertise, contributing to a rich and informative session.

This Unique Conference brought together Emergency Medicine Specialists and Intensive Care Physicians thus exemplifying the potential of hybrid models in educational and professional development scenarios, especially in the field of medical education,

About SGPGIMS

Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) is a medical institute of India located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1983 and is named after Sanjay Gandhi. The institute is on a 550 acres (2.2 km2) residential campus at Raebareli Road, 15 km from the main city. The institute offers its own degrees, which are recognized by the Medical Council of India.
