EM EAST …. Academic Feast

Agartala Government Medical College, Tripura in association with Emergency Medicine Association of India EMA-PURAB, INDUSEM and ACEE has organized a two day conference “EM EAST 1.0” from 12th to 13th January 2025 on the premises of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC).

Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Shirshendu Dhar, Regional Secretary of EMA PURAB, the conference was inaugurated by respected Director of Health services, Govt of Tripura, Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, respected principal of AGMC Dr. Anup Kumar Saha and other dignitaries which also includes prominent leader and vice-chairperson of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of GB Pant Hospital Dr. Ashok Sinha.

The conference included workshops on POCUS-EM SONO, Trauma Life Support, Cardiology corner – ECG BOOT CAMP and Basic Life support for nurses and paramedics.

EMA-PURAB was attended by more than 250 people across the eastern region. Leading respected national faculties Professor Dr. Sanjeev Bhoi from AIIMS JPNATC, Delhi and Associate Professor Dr. Manu Ayyan from JIPMER, Puducherry successfully led the POCUS workshop & regional faculties Dr. Kemba Padu from TRIHMS, Arunachal Pradesh and Dr. Nisha Toteja from AIIMS, Guwahati led the Trauma Life support workshop to give vibrant variations in the conference along with other faculties from the state of Tripura.

The “Eastern Lantern” was further illuminated when a special meeting with the officials from Government of Tripura met with the Leadership of INDUSEM and WHO-CCET AIIMS JPNAT. This high level meeting focussed on “Promulgation of Integrated emergency and Trauma Care System in Northeast Region” under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sanjeev Bhoi and was given a moonshine in the evening sky of the North east BHARAT when it was attended on the video conference by the Chief Executive Officer of INDUSEM Professor. Dr. Sagar Galwankar.

In his inspiring and vibrant speech Dr. Sagar Galwankar laid the roadmap for developing EM Care in Northeastern BHARAT and encouraged leaders of Tripura to swiftly bring Emergency Care to the citizens of BHARAT in Tripura because Dr. Sagar always envisions that “no emergency patient should be left behind anywhere, anytime in BHARAT”.

The conference ended on a high note of promulgation of integrated emergency and trauma care services in northeastern states and improvement of these services which are still in its early stages in northeastern BHARAT.

The EMA PURAB Inaugural conference was a great success and a milestone achievement on the crown of EMA BHARAT as it further strengthened the Govt of India’s initiative of LOOK EAST, ACT EAST policy.
