Born and raised in India, Dr. Ashish Bhalla is a Professor of Medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Punjab, India. He heads the Emergency Department and the Medical Toxicology service. Dr. Bhalla completed his residency training in India and is one of the leading educators in emergency medicine which is a thriving specialty in his country. He has also completed a clinical toxicology fellowship in the United Kingdom. Dr. Bhalla specializes in the care of poisonings and envenomations and is actively involved in research related to pesticide toxicity. He holds various responsibilities in education and training across India and is an active member of the American College of Medical Toxicology.
