Airway Leader Professor Manpreet Dawar led an Academic Team constituted by key leaders and educators from INDUSEM and trained learners on Emergency Difficult Airway Management at the recently concluded SAARC Congress on Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Colombo Sri Lanka. His training modules were endorsed and supported by The AIDAA (All India Difficult Airway Association), DAS (Difficult Airway Society, UK), and the Sri Lankan college of Anaesthetists (Colombo)
Skills Schools were conducted by Professor Lakesh Anand (GMCH, Chandigarh, India) with faculty of AIIMS Delhi namely Prof. Ravindra Pandey, Dr Rakesh Garg, Dr Nishkarsh Gupta), Dr Jai Ram from NHS trust, UK and Dr. Bhagya from Sri lanka College of Anaesthetists.
Unique techniques related to airway management were taught, discussed in interactive manner with hands on training for over 8 hours.
Large number of delegates from across the world participated in this training activity and appreciated the efforts of INDUSEM Academic Leaders.
The 8 hours intensive training program comprised of short lectures and Hands On training using mannequins and simulators. The attendees were taught about airway management in patients with difficult airway, trauma, and emergency scenarios or during mass casualties and accidents. Video presentations, Hands on experience, simulations, Group discussions and Interactive case presentation sessions were key content of the workshop.
Professor Dawar is the creator of The National Emergency Airway Training (NEAT) Program which is running successfully all over India since the last 3 years.
